However, this new decree does not aply to rural properties and for owners who have three or more properties which are used as tourist accommodation but are within a radius of one kilometre. In their case, they are regulated by the ¨apartamentos turisticos¨ decree.
What to do if we have a tourism property?
- Ask in town hall for ¨licencia de primera ocupación¨
- Print ¨declaración responsable¨ and then take it to Delegación de turismo in Málaga.
- Regarding the apartment:
- There must be cooling and heating systems at least in the lounge and bedrooms.
- The bedrooms must have exterior ventilation and means of shutting out the light.
- It must have domestic appliances and first aid kit
- Information about the area and maps.
- The property must be cleaned when clients arrive and leave.
- Bed linen must be provided along with a spare set.
- Tourist must also be given a contact telephone number for emergencies.
- Complaints book and a sign saying that you have one
- You have to inform your clients the house rules (pets allowed or not, smoking, noise, etc)
- The registration in Delegacion de turismo is free
- The fine for those who fail to register can be as much as € 150.000
